An international wedding in Stenungsund
Once again I have had the opportunity to document the union of two different nationalities. This time an English man meets an Italian woman in Amsterdam and they fall in love. Later they decide to move to Sweden, get married and start a family. And that is just the beginning of their story.
Raffaella and Rob are not Swedish and even tough they have made many friends since they moved close to Stenungsund, they still had a lot of friends and family from all around the world, who wanted to travel far to be able to participate at their wedding and celebrate their love. Some of them flew from Italy, some from Great Britain, some from Netherlands and some came all the way from Australia.
This wedding was a perfect example of how, in spite of cultural differences and language barriers, people can cooperate to create something beautiful. Friends got together and everyone generously helped out with preparations and organization of the event. As a result even more friendships are made and more love is spread throughout the day.
The ceremony and the reception were both held at Solhälla, in Svenshögen, in the beautiful environment by the lake Stora Hällungen. Poet Ben Bushill led a non-traditional wedding ritual respecting the blessings of four elements and the Mother Earth.
I hope these photos will help keep the memories alive for a very long time.
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your Big Day!
